March is GMN Networking Month. It may not all be about who you know, but it’s a lot about who you know. And who knows you. People do business with people they know and trust.

Networking—interacting with other people to develop contacts and exchange information to further your career—is beneficial for several reasons. It can lead to referrals and new opportunities. It can connect you to potential donors; you can glean advice from others you can trust within the industry. By meeting new people and becoming known through networking, you also raise your own personal profile. You become known to others as someone worth meeting and connecting with.
