Site visits will take place on Tuesday, March 21, from 8:15am-11:00am (pre-registration and fee payment is required to attend).

Homeboy Industries -Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community. Each year over 10,000 former gang members from across Los Angeles come through Homeboy Industries’ doors in an effort to make a positive change. They are welcomed into a community of mutual kinship, love, and a wide variety of services ranging from tattoo removal to anger management and parenting classes.

Inner City Arts – Inner-City Arts, widely regarded as one of the nation’s most effective arts education providers, is an oasis of learning, achievement and creativity in the heart of Skid Row, and a vital partner in the work of creating a safer, healthier Los Angeles. Inner-City Arts’ beautiful, award-winning campus is a source of inspiration to all who visit. During the school day, after school and on weekends, elementary, middle and high school students come to Inner-City Arts to work with professional teaching artists in well-equipped studios, receiving hands-on instruction in a range of subject areas within the visual, performing and media arts.

LA Kitchen – By reclaiming healthy, local food that would otherwise be discarded, training men and women who are unemployed for jobs, and providing healthy meals to fellow citizens, L.A. Kitchen empowers, nourishes, and engages the community. You’ll have the opportunity to talk with students and graduates of the training program, hear from L.A. Kitchen’s founder, Robert Egger and see first-hand how L.A. Kitchen is revolutionizing meals for seniors and low-income individuals in LA.

Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts – Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts is a place where students, teachers, parents, and the community collaborate to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where students can develop academic and life skills through creativity, inquiry, investigation, and reflection. Our arts integrated curriculum nurtures curiosity, confidence, collaboration, resilience, and civic engagement, enabling students to approach learning in different ways.

Covenant House – For more than 25 years, Covenant House California has been an open door to thousands of homeless kids… providing them with a safe environment, education, employment and, most importantly, a chance to become independent, self-sufficient adults. We operate as a multi-service agency, with locations in the heart of Hollywood and Oakland. Since 1988 we have helped more than 100,000 homeless youth.
