What Does Connect Mean to You: From a Power User

Mina Camacho, grants administrator at the Henry Luce Foundation (and recent PEAK Grantmaking Member of the Moment), is a Connect power user. Not only does she tap into the wisdom shared by other grants managers in the community, Mina uses Connect to communicate with the members of her regional chapter and to network with colleagues.

I’ll let Mina tell her Connect story:

As Connect marks its first anniversary, I have been grateful for the information it has provided, the tasks it accommodates, and the network it maintains.

After becoming communications chair of my regional chapter in January, I have used Connect often–to learn more about the field of grants management and to consult my peers for advice when I come to an issue I’m unfamiliar with.

It has been a useful tool to reach our local members about events and to advise them quickly about changes due to weather! An impending snowstorm made it necessary to postpone a gathering, and Connect made it easy to communicate that news.

I also appreciate the ability to access the membership in one location. After attending the conference in March, I wanted to get in touch with someone I met, but I couldn’t remember their name. However, I did remember the organization name. After consulting the Member Directory, I found the contact information I needed.

No doubt, Connect will continue to evolve to include other benefits and I encourage everyone to take advantage of the resources it contains.

PEAK Grantmaking members, what does Connect mean to you? Do you read the digests each day? What have you learned from your fellow grantmakers? Send an email to connect@peakgrantmaking.org and tell us your Connect story. We want to know!
