What CONNECT Means to PEAK Grantmaking Members

I recently spoke at the user conference for the software vendor that brings us CONNECT, PEAK Grantmaking’s online community.

The audience was impressed when I rattled off some usage statistics from CONNECT’s first year—2,500 posts, nearly 400 links and files shared, 8,000 items downloaded. I’m pretty impressed, too, with not only the level of activity, but with the quality of the information shared.

This month, as we celebrate CONNECT’s first birthday, we’ve heard from members about how CONNECT is supporting their work as grants managers.

Mina Camacho at the Henry Luce Foundation wrote a blog about how she’s networking with members and communicating with her Regional Chapter.

Tammy Gibson, data and analytics manager at the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, has this to say:

“I joined PEAK Grantmaking because of the networking that was available. I sometimes feel [like I’m] on an island. PEAK Grantmaking connects me to people doing the same work I do and I’ve found so much information just on [CONNECT] that I’ve benefitted from.”

Tedi Gillespie, director of grants and community outreach at Western Colorado Community Foundation, is also appreciative of her fellow members’ contributions:

“I find the CONNECT and online tools and resources extremely helpful, but don’t find the time to post as I would like—so I’m taking this opportunity to say ‘Thank You, PEAK Grantmaking, and thank you colleagues for all you share and for all you do!’”

And, Frida Hatami, grants manager at the Roy & Patricia Disney Foundation, discovered the CONNECT app:

“[The app] looks great. I loved it! With this app, I can access everything, anywhere, at any time.”

If you haven’t yet checked out CONNECT, take a minute to open the email digest or log into the community online. Or, search your app store for “PEAK Grantmaking.” You’ll be glad you did!
