Zakiyah (she, her, hers) brings to PEAK over 10 years of experience in event management, communications, development, and operations. Most recently, Zakiyah worked for the Public Welfare Foundation supporting efforts to catalyze a transformative approach to justice through reform. During her tenure at the foundation, she managed the day-to-day operations of the True Reformer Building. The True Reformer building is a cultural and civic Washington, DC, landmark designed for community conversations, social innovation, and change. While managing the building’s operations in 2020, she also led a multimillion-dollar restoration project amid the pandemic.

Zakiyah is a passionate volunteer who works to support efforts around education, health care, homelessness, and young people. A natural organizer, she works to bring people together to solve problems and create long-term solutions through meetings and events. She is a firm believer in the mantra “stronger together.”

Zakiyah is a California native who received her BA from Howard University, where she serves on the alumni relations committee. She enjoys traveling the world with her husband, amusement parks, and international cuisine.
