PEAK Grantmaking

Our Plans for PEAK2022

We are going virtual with our 2022 conference!
With safety as a continuing concern, particularly at large convenings, we have decided to host a virtual conference in 2022. It is heartbreaking for us and our board to make this decision as we were looking forward to gathering with our members and sector friends in New Orleans. We will miss the huddles in the coffee line, squeezing into breakout sessions with standing room only, and an offsite event that was always the talk of the conference floor.

We continue to live in unprecedented times with many unknowns. What we do know, however, is that your participation and support of PEAK2021 was beyond our expectations. We plan on hosting an even better virtual experience for you in 2022—and your participation will be key to its success.

Since you already saved the dates, we still plan to convene from March 21-25, 2022. Based on your feedback, we are planning a week of half-day programs filled with thought-provoking keynotes, networking gatherings, and breakout sessions of the highest quality.

As we begin our next chapter, the Principles for Peak Grantmaking will be at the center of all we do throughout PEAK2022. Equity remains a through line as we elevate our theory of change, explore how to deepen our knowledge through emergent learning, and advance equity through practice change. We will also leverage PEAK2022 as a launchpad for the transformation we want to see in philanthropy. And we will still celebrate the great city of New Orleans by infusing the experience with a NOLA vibe.

Our PEAK2022 co-chairs are Chindaly Chounlamountry Griffith, Streamlife Consulting, Amy Hall, Georgia Power Company, and Richerd Winton, William Davidson Foundation. Thank you, Chindaly, Amy, and Richerd, for your leadership. The conference committee is coming together well and we plan to post our call for speakers and sessions in October.

Registration will open in November. The fee for contributing Organization and Consultant Members is $200, $300 for Individual Members, and $400 for non-members.

As each of our member foundations grapples with the many unknowns due to the continued COVID-19 crisis, we wanted to alert you as soon as possible so you could plan and budget accordingly. While travel and hotel fees are no longer concerns, we hope your organization will consider a year-end donation in support of PEAK’s 25th anniversary or a donation next year to support PEAK’s next 25 years.

We’ll miss being under one roof to meet new members and reconnect with our most engaged supporters, but we hope this news comes as no surprise and that you are as excited as we are for PEAK2022! We know this has been a difficult time for so many, so—on behalf of our staff and Board—thank you for your continued support. Be safe!
