Call for Insights: Write for PEAK

Who should write for us

PEAK Grantmaking is a vibrant membership community of philanthropic professionals with a vision to transform philanthropy through equitable, effective grantmaking practices. Equity is at the heart of PEAK Grantmaking, and we want to hear how our members and partners are embedding it deeply throughout your work and your practices. By sharing your story, you will help us to assert our shared commitment to advancing equity in philanthropy.

Our vision, mission, purpose, and values boldly convey our goals and aspirations for PEAK’s next chapter. To help pave the way, we seek articles from across the PEAK community and social sector allies that illuminate how grantmaking professionals can rethink current practices, live and work by our Principles for Peak Grantmaking, and transform the field of philanthropy to best support our nonprofit partners and the communities we all seek to strengthen. Your voice and your experiences are critical to driving change, and we want to share our platform with you for the benefit and uplift of the entire community.

In addition, PEAK sponsor organizations also have the opportunity to publish content with us. Email info@peakgrantmaking.org to learn more about partnerships.

What to write

PEAK publishes articles year-round to the Insights section of our website on a wide variety of subjects that provide both inspirational and practical guidance for our community. We are primarily looking for content that speaks directly to the interests and concerns of grantmaking professionals and emphasizes grants management and the ways in which the expanding scope of this role and function is key to driving more effective and equitable grantmaking. We strongly encourage you to explore the Insights section of our website to get a firm idea of the tone and substance of content that is tailored to our audience.

Topics: Our content is organized using the following topics:

Specifications: PEAK reserves the right to edit content for length, clarity, accuracy, and adherence to PEAK’s brand guide. Articles generally run between 800 and 1,200 words. The author will have an opportunity to review the edited version of their article prior to publication. Drafts should be sent to jesse@peakgrantmaking.org as a Microsoft Word or Google document using Arial set to 11 pt. and containing little to no formatting.

Images: If you have rights to photographs or illustrations that directly relate to your article, we will gladly consider including them. All images should be oriented horizontally and be at least 1000×750 pixels at 300 dpi. Please provide copyright notice and caption.

Cross-posts: PEAK will, on occasion, cross-post articles that have been published by another organization. If you wish to propose a cross-post of your article, you will need to confirm that the organization agrees to crossposting and provide us with a point of contact at that organization.
