Adam Sanders

Managing Director of Grants Management  |  Mother Cabrini Health Foundation


Adam Sanders is currently Managing Director of Grants Management at Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. Previously, he was a grants manager at the Helmsley Charitable Trust, where he managed all aspects of grantmaking operations and compliance across Helmsley’s programs, co-chaired Helmsley’s Fluxx Governance Committee, led the maintenance of the foundation grantmaking system, assisted on organization-wide process improvement initiatives, performed staff training and onboarding, and provided technical assistance to applicants and grantees.

Previously, Adam was a Grants Manager and a Senior Philanthropic Service Administrator in the philanthropic solutions group at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in New York City. While at U.S. Trust, he was responsible for the grants management and fiduciary compliance of a large portfolio of private foundation and charitable trust accounts. Before moving to New York City, Adam was the Grants Administrator at the Blue Shield of California Foundation in San Francisco, CA.

Adam received his Master of Public Administration from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University and his Bachelor of Science in business administration with concentrations in marketing and entrepreneurship from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is an active member and volunteer of PEAK Grantmaking and co-chaired the 2017 annual conference in Los Angeles. He is a member of the 2020 cohort of Career Pathways, the Council on Foundations’ flagship leadership and development program, and previously served on Philanthropy New York’s Committee for Equitable and Inclusive Philanthropy.
