A Conversation for Small Foundations: Where are we now?

As the calls for more responsive and streamlined philanthropy grew around the COVID-19 crisis, our members – grants management professionals – led organizational efforts to adapt processes, procedures, technology, and communications. That, combined with philanthropy’s call to action with the uprisings for racial justice, has sparked some big changes from small foundations.

So, where are we now? We invite members from small foundations to come together for an open forum to reflect on what has changed over the past year with your peers. There will be break-out room discussions on the silver-lining “wins” from 2020, what continues to be a struggle, and what changes you hope to keep in perpetuity – and how. We’ll end with a toast to 2021 and networking as a group.

We encourage anyone who self-identifies as being from a small foundation to attend. We usually look to staff size as our indicator – either a staff of two or fewer, or only one grants management professional.
