Cafecito Hour: What’s in a name? (Latinx Caucus)

When we were deciding on a name for our group a year ago, we thought Latinx would encompass as many of our members’ lived identities as possible. However, there isn’t one word that can convey the rich complexity of the Latin diaspora. Inspired by a CONNECT thread, we are ready to reengage with the term Latinx and how it’s showing up in our daily lives.

Join us for a conversation where we’ll discuss the pros and cons of this term and popular alternatives, like Latine. We want everyone to feel comfortable and part of this amazing group. Let’s be united around our commonalities and some of our differences and work together to make us a stronger and bigger group where we can best support one another in every way. In addition, participants will receive a sweet treat!
