Financial Due Diligence and Grantee Financial Health (PEAK Florida)

In their due diligence processes, grantmakers often request a number of financial documents from grantees to mitigate some type of risk. But what is truly required? And what should grantmakers focus on in those key financial documents? In this workshop, BDO will share effective approaches to reviewing and interpreting financial documents and ways to approach financial due diligence that centers efficiency and equity and considers grantees’ capacity and financial health. In this workshop we will explore the following key questions around the due diligence process:

• What does effective financial due diligence look like in practice?
• What metrics should grantmakers consider and what tools can your foundation use to assess grantee capacity and financial health?
• How can grantmakers implement due diligence practices that align with commitments to equity?
