Overlooked and Underfunded: Disability inclusion and accessibility in philanthropy (PEAK Northern California)
This hybrid presentation will address the complicated relationship between philanthropy and people with disabilities. We are pleased to have three guest speakers for this event: Ability Central’s Matt Cherry, who is the parent of children with disabilities, Ability Central’s Alyah Thomas, who is a certified professional in accessibility core competencies and has 12 years of experience working with disabled communities, and Walt Raineri, an accomplished certified public accountant, lawyer, philanthropist, and athlete who happens to be blind. Together, these experts will share their suggestions for organizational (internal) and programmatic (external) strategies to consider when approaching disability inclusion and accessibility.
Accessibility
The in-person location is wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs by emailing mcherry@abilitycentral.org by November 7, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
