Research Funder Working Group (PEAK Northeast)

Join other funders of research grants and fellowships for a discussion of issues that are specific to research funding, including indirect costs, intellectual property, and the distinct roles of institutions and principal investigators. Many philanthropic best practices developed for working with nonprofit partners—e.g., unrestricted funding, no grant agreement, oral reporting—do not apply straightforwardly to funding research at universities.  But that doesn’t mean research funding practices cannot be equally purposeful or value driven.

Come and share pain points, identify areas that would benefit from field-wide best practices, brainstorm opportunities for aligning values with practices, and gauge interest for an ongoing working group.
