PEAK Grantmaking Journal | The Voice of the African American Male in Philanthropy

The publication of our latest PEAK Grantmaking Journal, focused on Black Voices in Grants Management, was just the beginning of this conversation for us. This webinar is the first of a two-part series focused on Black voices. (Register for the April 22 webinar here.)

Black men at different levels within grants management and philanthropy will share their experiences and views of a sector that has been dominated by white men. In philanthropy, there is little representation for Black men in leadership positions, and this conversation will help bring perspective to the data around representation for Black voices.

Participants will leave saying “I SEE – not just know about – Black men in philanthropy, they belong here, and the leadership that they demonstrate – in their communities, in their churches, and in philanthropy – is valued and valuable.”

Speakers:

  • Steven Casey, Associate Director, Grants Management, MacArthur Foundation, and PEAK Grantmaking board member
  • Roland Kennedy, Grant Operations Liaison, Bloomberg Philanthropies
  • Nathaniel Smith, Founder and Chief Equity Officer, Partnership for Southern Equity
  • Marcus Walton, President & CEO, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations
  • Richerd Winton, Grants Management Associate, William Davidson Foundation

Facilitated by:

  • Genise Singleton, Program Operations Manager, Kresge Foundation
