Right now, we know our members are busy adjusting to many new normals – working from home while also taking care of family, quickly streamlining grantmaking practices to better serve grantees at this crucial moment, and adapting to life during the uncharted times of a pandemic.
Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, one thing that hasn’t changed is that PEAK Grantmaking is still, at our core, a membership association. We are member-led and member-driven to bring grants management professionals together to learn, connect, and grow as leaders in the philanthropic sector to implement more equitable, efficient, and effective grantmaking practices.
And so, the work of our association continues. On May 5, we’ll hold our annual meeting. It’s also time to elect six members to our Board of Directors to help lead us forward.
This year, we have six amazing candidates from across the country up for election or re-election to the board. If elected, each candidate would serve a three-year term, beginning at the first Board meeting after the election is finished.
Three candidates have been nominated to join the board:
- Adam Sanders, Grants Manager, The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust
- Miyesha Perry, Director of Grants Management, Kenneth Rainin Foundation
- Bridget De Leon, Director of Grantmaking, The Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation
Three current board members are up for re-election:
- Kevin Bolduc, Vice President – Assessment and Advisory Services, Center for Effective Philanthropy
- Janet Camarena, Director, Transparency Initiatives, Candid
- Timothy Robinson, AVP – Operations and Grants Management, Lumina Foundation for Education
All current Organization Members and Individual Members are eligible to vote in this election. If eligible, you’ll receive your online member ballot on April 7 via email through SurveyMonkey. Simply click on the candidates’ picture(s) to cast your vote. You may vote for up to all six of our candidates. The election will be open from April 7 through May 6, and we will announce the results shortly after the election.
Along with the election, I’d like to personally invite every member, along with our partners and friends across philanthropy, to attend our Annual Membership Meeting & PEAK2020 Online Kick-Off Virtual Happy Hour on May 5 from 4-5pm ET. During this event, PEAK board members and staff will share accomplishments from 2017-2019 and a financial snapshot of the organization. Plus: You‘ll meet our board nominees, and we’ll provide an update on our executive leadership search.
After the business of the Annual Membership Meeting is complete, we’ll shift gears and break out into virtual meeting rooms for facilitated networking to kick off PEAK2020 Online! Enjoy the break and seeing your peers face-to-face for a virtual “happy hour.” Feel free to bring your favorite beverage and be ready for a little levity and fun during these trying times.
RSVP now for the Annual Membership Meeting & PEAK2020 Online Kick-Off Happy Hour.
I’ll see you there!
