Done well, listening and responding to the people we ultimately serve can contribute to more equitable grantmaking and help shift power from grantmakers to marginalized communities. Yet, grantmakers often feel like listening is an add-on to their real work and struggle to prioritize it. What messages, tools, and examples can help grantmakers approach listening as a key practice and way to live their values? This interactive session will offer practical ways to help grantmakers see listening as a core part of their work and give participants space to apply those ideas to their own spheres of influence.
