Listening and Messaging Matters During a Crisis
Organization Members Only
During the pandemic, we’ve seen how public health efforts were impaired by vaccine misinformation, delayed communication strategies, and overwhelmed workers. National listening sessions with patients and staff provided insights to concerns, fears, and knowledge gaps to COVID19.
The same hurdles and opportunities exist in the philanthropic sector. As grantmakers collaborate with community-based organizations, it is essential that there is a formal mechanism to safeguard the quality and validity of all released information. Lessons from the listening sessions translates into a strategy to be used in any funding program for effective techniques for quality assurance in funding projects.
