Pooled Funds, Donor Collaboratives, Collective Action Funds, Oh My! Navigating Compliance in Donor Partnerships

Organization Members Only

Funders want to maximize impact by joining forces and giving together. Often, high trust among funders leads to casual donor collaboratives of various types, all with various names—pooled funding models, donor-advised funds, fiscally sponsored projects, collective action funds—and no standards. To maximize impact, funders should understand the legal implications of these collaborations. This session will provide a framework for understanding donor collaboratives, the legal risks inherent in each type of collaborative, and how to navigate those risks successfully.

This block of breakout sessions is sponsored by Walton Family Foundation.
