It’s happening! We are excited to implement a next-level association management system—Nimble AMS, which runs on the Salesforce platform—in the coming weeks.
This investment in technology will enhance the member experience and ensure that our processes and tools reflect our community values. With our new database, members will find it easier to access our website and CONNECT, download resources, register for events, and update contact information and team rosters. Staying connected to PEAK will soon be a more seamless experience!
To support our transition, we will have a tech upgrade break. PEAK’s current database will go offline on Friday, May 24, and we anticipate our new database will go live in mid-June. During our break, members will not have access to CONNECT or members-only resources on our website. In addition, we will not host meetings or run meeting registration during that time. We will share instructions on how to access our new system in June and ensure ways for you to stay connected during this time.
We appreciate your support, patience, and understanding as we make this important shift. In the days and weeks ahead, we’ll continue to be in communication with you regarding updates and additional information about our implementation. Please see the FAQs below for more information on what you can expect during our tech upgrade break and from our future system.
If you have questions about this transition, please reach out to Sara Richman Sanders at sara@peakgrantmaking.org or Clare Larson at clare@peakgrantmaking.org. We look forward to celebrating our next-level technology transition in June!
FAQ
What is the tech upgrade break?
The tech upgrade break is when our current membership database, NetFORUM Pro, is down to allow us to migrate and transition to our new membership database (Nimble AMS).
During the break, members will not have access to CONNECT or members-only resources on our website. In addition, we will not host meetings or run meeting registration during that time, with the exception of a handful of recurring chapter meetings.
When is the tech upgrade break?
The break begins on Friday, May 24 and will continue through mid-June when our new system goes live.
What happens during the tech upgrade break?
During the tech upgrade break, data is pulled out of our current system, NetFORUM Pro, and migrated into Nimble AMS. This means that no changes can be made to the data until we are in Nimble AMS, including: no new events, registrations, memberships, transactions, and no changes to member accounts (titles, organizations, etc.).
Changes to the database will be able to be made starting June 25 once we are in Nimble AMS and after we have confirmed the data migration was successful and the database is fully functional.
Why can’t PEAK host meetings during the tech upgrade break?
Registration for all meetings will close on May 24. Members will not be able to register for meetings again until June 24. During the tech upgrade break, we will also not be able to use the database for communicating with members about the meetings. In addition, many staff who usually support members in accessing events will be focused on the transition. To ensure excellence, we are holding off on any meetings during the break.
How can I prepare for the tech upgrade break?
If you anticipate needing any PEAK resources during this time, please download them now! We also encourage you to register for any upcoming events now.
How can I support this transition?
We know our members have so much experience with system transitions, and we’d love your advice. Click here to share your lessons learned here to support our efforts with an emergent learning focus, and earn your chance to win a prize in our raffle.
We also are looking for members to be early Nimble AMS tester and share feedback on the experience. To become an early tester, please email one of our Nimble AMS leads, Sara Richman Sanders at sara@peakgrantmaking.org or Clare Larson at clare@peakgrantmaking.org.
What are some of the enhancements I can expect?
We are excited that Nimble AMS will have a fresher interface and be more user-friendly, and responsive to our community. It will include the following improvements:
- Single sign-on across all PEAK platforms, including the website, Member Center, and CONNECT
- Streamlined member join and renewal processes
- Self-service abilities to
- join more than one chapter;
- join caucuses and affinity groups; and
- update your organization’s membership roster
- Real time website updates, such as volunteer recognitions, donations, organization members, and events
- Ability to share demographic data
