Philanthropy for a Racially Equitable Greater Chicago Initiative

Organization Members Only

The Philanthropy for a Racially Equitable Greater Chicago Initiative (PREGC) has played a strategic role in advancing racial equity across Cook County by supporting people-of-color-led organizations, individuals, and advocates to strengthen their capacity to promote dialogue, advocate for and serve their communities, and engage the philanthropic community in understanding the importance of these efforts. PREGC is led by an advisory committee made up of representatives from our region’s philanthropy affinity groups – Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy, Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy, and Chicago Latinos in Philanthropy – and funders – Healthy Communities Foundation, Grand Victoria Foundation, Woods Fund Chicago and Field Foundation.

In this session, learn about the unique landscape of the Chicago region and how it prompted the creation of PREGC, the invaluable role each affinity group plays, and the initiative’s priorities with a look at its long- and short-term impact.
