PEAK Grantmaking

Pro Bono Service: A Tool for Inclusive Grantmaking

Organization Members Only

During this interactive session, participants will see how pro-bono service can be a viable solution to bridge the skills and resource gaps that exist in the nonprofit sector, particularly among BIPOC leaders and organizations that serve BIPOC communities. With general operating grants rising nationally, the grantmaking community can continue to advance support by proactively offering self-determined resources like facilitated pro-bono engagements.

This presentation will explore driving questions such as:

  • What is the nonprofit funding gap?
  • How are funding gaps being exacerbated by racialized obstacles to funding?
  • How can pro bono bridge the power gap for nonprofits disadvantaged by more traditional grantmaking?
  • How can the grantmaking community leverage pro bono service to promote equity in the nonprofit sector?
