Humility, Humanity, and Healing: Acknowledging inequitable grantmaking practices and building trust

Organization Members Only

In this no-holds-barred panel, presenters will examine two case studies where inequitable past discretionary grantmaking practices prevented BIPOC-led nonprofits from getting adequate funding, and the truth-telling (humility), relationship-building (humanity) and accountability (healing) necessary for growth. Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region program officers Carolyn Desrosiers and Jenny Krikava will talk with nonprofit leaders Sheng Lee Yang of Us 2 Behavioral Health and Dr. Sabrina Robins of African Heritage Inc. about the good, the bad, and the ugly of two of the Foundation’s competitive grantmaking programs and what’s possible when grassroots BIPOC efforts are given the support they deserve.

This block of breakout sessions is sponsored by Walton Family Foundation.
